Meet Our Staff
Kathy Rorer, PT, DPT
Kathy Rorer, PT, DPT, was born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky. She has been a physical therapist for 25 years, graduating from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's degree in Health Science in 1984, and completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008. She is the owner and founder of Restoration Physical Therapy, which she opened in 2008.
Kathy is a certified lymphedema therapist, with expertise in several other areas, including spinal dysfunction, orthopedics and pelvic floor dysfunction. She believes that education is empowerment and incorporates education into every patient's treatment plan. She also offers educational seminars to the public on various topics including diabetes, lymphedema, osteoporosis and women's health.
She has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association for 25 years and has held several positions at both district and state levels in that organization. Other positions include teaching in the physical therapy assistant program at Western Kentucky Community and Technical College.
When she is not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, power walking, reading and decorating.
Renée Franklin Golson, PT, MS
Renée graduated from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1998 and Master's in Physical Therapy in 2001. She has been treating patients for over nine years in a variety of settings, inlcuding outpatient, hospital, nursing home and home health. She is certified in the LSVT BIG Parkinson's Exercise Program and enjoys treating people with this challenging diagnosis. She firmly believes it is her mission to empower each individual she treats with the knowledge to care for themselves with specific tools for success, and to promote cardiovascular and muscular fitness for all her patients. Renée is an avid long distance runner, bicyclist and outdoor enthusiast.
Ruth Belcher, PTA
Ruth Belcher, PTA, graduated from Paducah Community College in 1995 with an Associate in Applied Science degree in the area of Physical Therapy and received her certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Kentucky State Board of Physical Therapy that same year. She is a graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, minor in Graphic Arts Photography (1986), and an endorsement in middle school science (1987). She has 15 years experience as a PTA, in 3 states, including a wide variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.
She is an avid photographer in her spare time. Two children and four grandchildren also occupy much of her time. She enjoys traveling and hiking, with camera in hand.
Lisa Nixon, RD, LD
Lisa is a graduate of Murray State University with Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. She completed her internship through the University of Tennessee at Martin. During her internship she completed rotations at Jackson Purchase Medical Center and Western Baptist Hospital. Other rotations included Crump Women's Center, Bowling Developmental Disabilities Center, and St. Jude's Hospital, in Memphis, TN. Since graduation she has continued her education and is certified in Adult Weight Management.
Lisa is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian with over 10 years of experience. She currently serves as the clinical dietitian and foodservice director at Massac Memorial Hospital. In her position there she has the opportunity to counsel clients on the many aspects of how diet and nutrition contribute to their overall health. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, weight management and gastrointestinal diseases are just a few of the conditions which can be improved with a proper diet.
We are pleased to announce that Lisa also provides consultative services for our patients at Restoration Physical Therapy.
Pam Hurst, Office Manager
Pam Hurst is our office manager and the glue that holds us all together. She is the first smiling face you will come in contact with when you walk in our front door. She possesses excellent customer service skills and pays attention to every detail, which provides the perfect combination for her position. She has experience in insurance verification, billing, worker's compensation authorization and scheduling.
Pam graduated from Paducah Community College in 1989 with an Associate's degree in Applied Science, and also has ten years of experience as a physical therapy technician. She is married with three children and one grandchild, and enjoys reading and scrapbooking.
